Many mental health issues are associated with people’s heavy use of social media platforms. A “Like”, becomes more and more important to a person’s emotional well being, due to these facts. People were even willing to pay top dollar, to have fake likes added to their IG posts. Removing likes all together, will nip the “popularity contest” aspect of Instagram, in the bud.
