Why Does Nancy Pelosi Call George Floyd a Sacrifice for Justice?

Unlawful premediate killing of human by another human is the official definition of murder. Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murder on 3 charges. Nancy Pelosi’s reaction to Derek Chauvin’s verdict indirectly changes the meaning of what murder is. Nancy Pelosi thinks George Floyd was a sacrifice.

Her controversial comments came during a speech at the Congressional Black Caucus presser. Most likely she didn’t mean any ill intentions, but she seemed to be trying way too hard to sound “down for the cause” in that point in time. It all came to strange moment where Nancy Pelosi said, “Thank you George Floyd for sacrificing your life for justice”. In that moment the speech took a bizarre turn.

How could someone murdered by a cop be a sacrifice? George Floyd didn’t want to be a sacrifice, he wanted to live. Lives shouldn’t have to be sacrificed for justice, that in itself would be an issue.

Derek Chauvin could serve up to 75 years in prison is he gets the max sentence for all three his charges, and serves them consecutively. Derek Chauvin was found guilty Second degree manslaughter, which carries a 10 year sentence, guilty of third degree murder, which carries a 25 year sentence, and guilty of second degree murder, which carries a 40 year sentence. In 8 weeks his official sentencing will begin.

The tragic murder of George Floyd shouldn’t be deemed a sacrifice for justice, rather it seems more respectful to say his name is now a symbol of justice.
