Tragedy befell New York today when a Bronx Apartment building went up in flames unexpectedly. The calamity killed at least 19 people, including 9 children. In addition 32 others were seriously injured. New York Mayor Eric Adams declared it the worst fire in modern times, and statistically it’s the deadliest fire the city has seen in 25 years. According to multiple reports a malfunctioning electric Space Heater started the Bronx Apartment Building fire. However, Eric Adams says US Marshals are on the scene to investigate if that was the true origin of the fire. They will also be providing guidelines on what the state of New York can do better to prevent a tragedy like this from occurring again.
The apartment building was located on 333 East 181 Street in the Bronx. Around 200 FDNY workers were on the scene trying to save as many lives as they can. Photos of the fire are absolutely horrifying.
