Tom Brady is known for being one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but he is also a mentor and a friend to many young players in the NFL. One of them is Shedeur Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. Shedeur Sanders is a junior quarterback for the Buffaloes, who transferred from Jackson State after winning the Deacon Jones Trophy as the nation’s top HBCU player in 2022.
Why Did Tom Brady Curse Out Shedeur Sanders?
However, Brady was not impressed by Sanders’ choice of car, a Rolls Royce that he reportedly bought with his name, image and likeness (NIL) earnings. On the latest episode of the “Let’s Go Podcast” with Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, Tom Brady publicly cursed out Sanders for having such a luxurious vehicle at 21 years old.
“He needs to get his a** in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible, and less time in the car,” Brady said. Interestingly he himself owns a 2015 Rolls Royce Ghost, although he got his when he as already established in the NFL.
Brady’s comments sparked a lot of reactions on social media, where many fans and analysts found it hilarious to see the seven-time Super Bowl champion scolding Sanders in a good way. Some praised Brady for being honest and giving valuable advice to Sanders, while others joked that Brady was jealous or out of touch with the new generation of players.

There’s an old saying that goes “the more you have, the more people expect from you, the more pressure you put on yourself, the more distractions you create for yourself”. Perhaps Tom Brady feels that not only is the Rolls Royce a distraction for Shedeur Sanders, it could also add unnecessary mental pressure to live up to his own hype.
