Damian Lillard’s response to Carmelo Anthony farewell post to Portland is the internet talking. It was only 4 words, but left people with so many thoughts. Some people think Damian Lillard dissed Carmelo Anthony farewell post to Blazers using slang from the “Top Boy” show that is popular on Netflix.
Carmelo Anthony wrote a lengthy post thanking Portland for supporting him, and welcoming him with open arms when he was a low point of his career. Under that post Damian Lillard posted a comment saying, “off the property bruv”. The word bruv is excessively used on the show Top Boy, and considering Damian Lillard is from America one could assume he might be a fan of the show, and loves the urban British dialect used in the actors.
If you’ve never watched “Top Boy” before, here’s a video that highlights how much they use the word “bruv”.
Damian Lillard doesn’t seem like the type who would publicly spar with a teammate, especially a veteran like Carmelo.
His comment was likely just friendly banter between two teammates who became close friends. They both are probably laughing about what he said, and how confused people are. Damian Lillard saying “off the property bruv” to Carmelo Anthony will give birth to so many meme captions.
