Coach Brett Brown FIRED by 76ers as They Begin Clearing Front Office House After Getting Swept

Coach Brett Brown was FIRED by 76ers in what is rumored to be the beginning of Sixers clearing front office house. After 76ers got swept in the first round, many questions where raised about Brett Brown’s future. He was a good coach in the regular season, but made key mistakes during the playoffs that some people saw as downright stubborn.

Most notably Brett Brown never could get his rotations right, and didn’t know how to effectively use or motivate the personnel he had. With Brett Brown’s firing, rumors say Sixers GM Elton Brand is getting ready to completely shake up the front office.

Through the Sixers vs Celtics series Coach Brett Brown was seen getting angry at his players effort on the court. One of the more infamous moments was when he cursed out Shake Milton during Game 4. When you’re players aren’t showing effort in a do or die game, it’s a sign the coach has “lost” the team. When players don’t want to play for a coach, their effort often times diminishes.

Throughout Brett Brown’s tenure the closest Sixers came to making the finals was the year they had Jimmy Butler. This is why some people feel his firing was unjust, since Sixers were seemingly one star player away from being true contenders. If you add in the fact that Ben Simmons was out with his knee injury, you could argue Brett Brown deserved another chance. However, none of this outweighed the fact that he clearly lost team, and was bad at making strategical changes on the fly.

The biggest question now is who will Sixers hire to replace Brett Brown? There’s great coaches like Mark Jackson possibly available for hire.
