Police Chase a Real Life ‘The Joker’ Mental Patient on Atlanta Highway After He Escaped Hospital and Jumped on a AAA Truck

In the big cities you expect to something strange everyday, but sometimes a situation happens that catches you completely off guard. If someone were to ask you what is the craziest thing you’ve seen on the way to work, what happened in Atlanta today probably won’t be your answer.

Mental Patient Escapes Hospital in Atlanta, Runs From Police on Highway, and Jumps on AAA Truck

A viral video shows an Atlanta escaped mental patient running from police on a highway. As an AAA truck driver was recording the crazy scene the mental patient jumped on his AAA truck as police blocked off the highway. That road block didn’t help as the Atlanta mental patient ran right past the police with ease.

The entire situation looked like it could be a scene from the Batman The Dark Knight movie, which led to people dubbing the escaped Atlanta mental patient the real life “The Joker”. In Batman The Joker always managed to escape mental hospitals, then easily evade cops.

Most people would have swerved off the road or slammed on the brakes if someone jumped on their car like this. This guy was doing so many dangerous things, but thankfully he got lucky, and didn’t get hurt in the footage.

One thing that’s strange about the video is how the cops basically let him run past the road block, when they could have easily stopped him. One of the cops stayed in the backseat of the squad car when the mental patient slowly ran by. Maybe they were trying not to be forceful in the process of detaining him.

Hopefully everything worked out, and the guy got the help he needed. He was running towards oncoming traffic, so hopefully the situation ended peacefully with no one getting hurt.

Mental health is a very serious issue that is often underreported on. In recent years there has been an effort to make it more comfortable for people to speak out about their mental health, which could save many lives and bad situations from happening.
