LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva DEMANDS Lebron James Double Reward Money for Gunman Who Shot Police Officers in Head and Face During Ambush
LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva demanded Lebron James double reward money amount for a gunman who shot police officers. The gunman ambushed two police officers at the Compton MLK Transit Center. Reports say the Gunman shot the police officers multiple times in the face and head, and is still at large.
According to a report from CNN, Los Angeles has offered $100,000 for the capture of the gunman, and two anonymous individuals donated $75K. If you double the amount it means LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva wants Lebron James to donate $350,000.
Alex Villanueva was speaking on 790KABC radio when he sent the demand to Lebron. Take a look at his full statement:
“This challenge is to LeBron James. “I want you to match that ($175,000) and double that reward. Because I know you care about law enforcement. You expressed a very interesting statement about your perspective on race relations, on officer involved shootings, the impact it has on the African American community, and I appreciate that. However, we also need to appreciate that respect for life goes across professions and across races. I’d like to see LeBron James step up to the plate and double that reward.“
Will Lebron James respond to LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s demand? It seems clear that Alex Villanueva is trying to make statement about Lebron James stances on police brutality, by putting him on the spot like this. If Lebron James doesn’t double the reward, it won’t be surprising if the LA Sheriff starts to insinuate that he’s a hypocrite.
The two police officers miraculously survived the shooting, but are both in critical condition.
