He was stopped by the police for a traffic infraction. The cops smelled a pungent aroma of marijuana coming from his car, which gave them the right to search it.

What they found was shocking. They allegedly uncovered drug paraphernalia and a stash of marijuana that was within the “personal use” limit according to Kentucky law. In Kentucky, having up to 8 ounces of marijuana is deemed personal use and is a minor offense.
