Chicago Dashcam Records Chicago Goons Machinegun Shootout Ambush Fail on Highway in Southside
You ever had someone tell you that you were in the wrong place at the wrong time? Well imagine being stuck in traffic during a Chicago shootout when you were just trying to run some errands. For one man that became reality when his Chicago dashcam recorded Chicago goons’ machinegun shoutout ambush fail on a highway in broad daylight.
The video starts out showing a man in a grey hoodie emerging from a red car with a machine gun. He quickly starts letting off shots at a time when traffic was stuck due to a red light. Within seconds another man in a black hoodie emerges from the other side of the of the red car firing off more shots at target only a few feet from the Chicago man’s dashcam. When the bullets stopped flying the light turned green, and everyone kept driving like nothing crazy just happened.
One of the main things this video shows is how normalized gun violence is to people in Southside Chicago. Not a single car budged when the shooting started, and after they were driving so calmly. Even the guy controlling the dashcam was relatively calm. They all had the “we’ve seen this happen before” vibe going on.
Gun violence continues to be a huge issue in Chicago. Statistics say around 83% of murders that occur in Chiraq are by use of a firearm. In the first three months of 2021 there were 131 homicides in Chicago, which marked the highest murder rate since 2017. That was coming off a 2020 where Chicago had 761 murders making it one of their most deadly years ever. Back in the 90s there was time where Chicago average 34 homicides per 100,000 people.
