Many people are wondering what made LaMarcus Aldridge do the unthinkable and join the Nets. It appears Gregg Popovich’s reaction to Lamarcus Aldridge signing with Brooklyn Nets may have answered that questions.
Gregg Popovich Reveals Secret About Lamarcus Aldridge Joining Brooklyn Nets
Gregg Popovich reacted to Lamarcus Aldridge on the Nets in his usual classy manner. He said Spurs are happy for him wherever he goes, he was a great teammate, and is sure he will do great in Brooklyn. It was the last thing he said that stood out most. Gregg Popovich revealed Lamarcus Aldridge is familiar with some of the staff on Brooklyn Nets.
In essence they had a leg up on the competition all along during the sweepstakes to get him.

The old saying going “Chess not checkers”, and it seems Nets are playing chess out here. However, they still have a roster full of washed up players who can’t play defense, which will probably come back to haunt them come playoffs time.
