Magic Carpet Carnival Ride Almost Wrecks Breaking Off Ground at National Cherry Festival as People Hold It Down by Hand to Save Lives

Traverse City Michigan was a few moments from experiencing multiple possible casualties at a family event, but it was the quick thinking of frightened bystanders that saved the day. A massive wreck almost happened when the National Cherry Festival Magic Carpet carnival ride broke from the ground almost causing in to fall over while people were hanging high in the air. What happened next could only be described as superheroes coming together to save the day.

People held down the broken Magic Carpet ride by hand, which saved it from toppling over and crushing the passengers. More and more people came to aid gripping on the guard rail tightly to keep the ride in place. It was still a tense situation as you could hear the metal bending with each swing of the ride.

At the moment there are no details on what made the Magic Carpet break away from the ground.

When the situation was slightly under control the ride took longer than normal to slow down, because of a power loss that occurred when it ripped away from the ground beneath it. At one point in the video you can see one of the passengers kick the Magic Carpet in frustration.
