Video Shows San Diego California Deputy Cop David Faiivae Overdosing on Fentanyl During Drug Bust Just By Being Too Close

By now most people have heard of the dangerous drug Fentanyl. Scientists say it’s 100 times more potent than morphine, and has taken the lives of many people including well known rappers and actors. In a recent video it almost claimed the life of cop making a drug bust too.

The scary footage shows the moment San Diego California Deputy Cop David Faiivae overdosed on Fentanyl during a drug bust, just from being too close to it. The nightmare started when David Faiivae noticed a white powdery substance in the car of the suspect they had just stopped. As he was examining it to identify if it was Fentanyl he collapsed and started to OD.

Luckily for him his partner sprung into action spraying Narcan in both his nostril, and instructed him to try breathing. He was eventually put on stretcher, and taken to the emergency room at a San Diego hospital. Miraculously David Faiivae survived his Fentanyl overdose ordeal, and lived to tell about it in the video below.

Although his partner’s quick actions saved his life in that moment, David Faiivae also owes his survival to a policy change that happened in 2014. During that year the San Diego Sherriff’s Department he works for began allowing deputies to carry Naloxone, which is another name for Narcan. It has the ability to stabilize someone who is in the midst of an opioid overdose.

The moral of this story is that Fentanyl is so dangerous you can die just from being too close to it. Yet another reason to stay away from drugs.
