Michael Irvin, the former Dallas Cowboys star and current NFL analyst, has been accused of sexual misconduct by a female employee of Marriott International. The alleged incident took place on February 5, 2023 at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown hotel, where Irvin was staying for Super Bowl weekend.
According to court documents filed by Marriott, the accuser claims that Irvin approached her near an elevator and made vulgar and inappropriate comments to her. She also alleges that he grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into his room. She says she managed to escape and reported the incident to her supervisor.
Leaked Security Camera Video May Prove Michael Irvin’s Sexual Misconduct Accuser Lied
Irvin has denied the allegations, saying he only had a friendly conversation with the woman about his sports shows and never touched her inappropriately. He also says he has witnesses who can corroborate his version of events.
To prove his innocence, Irvin had asked Marriott to release the surveillance video of their encounter. He says the video will show that nothing improper happened between them. He also refiled his $100 million defamation lawsuit against Marriott and the accuser, moving it from Texas to Arizona.
Yesterday, Irvin’s lawyers released a copy of the video to the media. The video shows Irvin and the woman talking near an elevator for about two minutes. During their conversation, Irvin touches her twice on the elbow, but does not appear to grab or pull her. They then part ways without any signs of struggle or distress.
The video seems to contradict the accuser’s claims against Irvin. It also raises questions about why she waited until March 1st to file a complaint with Marriott’s human resources department, almost four weeks after the alleged incident. Judging from the video many people on social media feel that Michael Irvin is the victim of an extortion attempt, so it will interesting to see how the case plays out going forward.
