Is Elon Musk stealing Tesla from Martin Eberhard? Elon Musk responded to the accusation that he stole Tesla from former CEO Martine Eberhard. In his response he made a bold statement, that is sending shockwaves through the auto and tech industry.
According to Elon Musk, Martin Eberhard was fired from Tesla in 2007 for committing corporate fraud. He allegedly provided fake information to Musk and Tesla’s board. Details about his firing is what Elon Musk is using to support his claim that he isn’t stealing Tesla.
Take a look at the viral tweets that accused Elon Musk of stealing tesla, and his response to the allegations.
Elon Musk claims that no company personnel left with Martin Eberhard when he was fired from his position as Tesla’s CEO, which he says is proof that he didn’t steal Tesla. He went on to say the informational sources such as Wikipedia have misconstrued Eberhard’s role in developing the company, which makes him look more important than he actually was to their success. Strangely Wikipedia says Tesla was founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. It goes on to say Elon Musk didn’t join Tesla until 2009, and only was recognized as a founder after the infamous lawsuit in 2009.

There is information that supports this theory and information that debunks it, so really it’s up to what you want to believe. However, Elon Musk is adamant he isn’t stealing Tesla, and it seems like he might have concrete evidence.
