According to a report from NBC news the CIA has allegedly confirmed that most cases of Havana Syndrome affecting US Diplomats and undercover spies was not caused by a hostile foreign power. In these particular cases the CIA discovered other explanations for what might have caused the unexplained symptoms, but they have not revealed that information.

However, there are 24 out of the hundreds of known cases where they are still investigating to see if a foreign power was involved. In those 24 particular cases the victims experiencing Havana Syndrome may be feeling the after affects of a targeted attack. This has added more fuel to the conspiracy theories about some type of ray gun bioweapon being used to induce Havana Syndrome symptoms on certain targets.

There were some interesting reactions on social media to the new development in this strange saga. Some people even suggested a conspiracy theory that NSA SIGINT was causing Havana Syndrome symptoms in Americans who were victims of friendly fire from the US technology. NSA SIGINT is used to collect foreign intelligence communications, which is then sent to powerful members of the US government.
