Sad news shook the nation today when media outlets reported a mass shooting at Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo New York. There are reportedly at least 10 casualties, and 2 people seriously injured. The Buffalo mass shooter was identified as man named Payton Gendron. The shooting was allegedly live streamed by the suspect as it happened.

Peyton Gendron was from Conklin, which is around 200 miles from Buffalo NY. The location he chose to shoot people in was a well known predominantly black neighborhood, and 11 of the victims were black people. In addition to mentioning race directly in his manifesto, Payton Gendron believed in the ‘White Replacement Theory’ aka ‘Great Replacement Theory’, which is an ideology usually shared by white supremacists. People who believe this theory are convinced that nonwhite people will eventually take over the United States through immigration and reproduction. He also stated he supports mass shooters like Dylann Roof, because in his own words he believes they ‘took a stand against ethnic and cultural genocide‘. It’s clear Payton Gendron is racist.

On the surface most people would guess that Peyton Gendron is right wing. However, according to his manifesto Payton Gendron is ‘Authoritarian Left Wing’ (ALW). By definition the Authoritarian Left Wing is the polar opposite of the Authoritarian Right Wing (ARW), but also the same in some ways. People who are ALW aggressively oppose established hierarchy, while people who are ARW aggressively support established hierarchy. Both groups are generally not opposed to using violence to support their movements. What’s interesting is that some psychologists believe that it’s impossible for an Authoritarian to be left wing, which is part of the reason why there isn’t much focus on the beliefs of people who fall in that category.

“When I was 12 I was deep into communist ideology, talk to anyone from my old high school and ask about me and you will hear that. From age 15 to 18 however, I consistently moved farther to the right. On the political compass I fall in the mild-moderate authoritarian left category, and I would prefer to be called a populist.”

When discussing the type of people he supports he wrote,

“I support many of those that take a stand against ethnic and cultural genocide. Brenton Tarrant, Patrick Crusius, John Earnest, Robert Bowers, Phillip Manshaus, Luca Traini, Anders Breivik, Dylann Roof, Anton Lundin Pettersson, Darren Osbourne etc. I have never had any connections with other confirmed partisans though”.

When discussing if he was expecting to be alive in prison he said,

“Yes, I do wish to see how the world plays out after all. If I become old in the same prison. I would only assume that we have passed the point of no return and will die out, and that I have failed. If we do rise up against the replacers, I expect that I will be let out and honored amongst my people”.

A viral picture allegedly captured from the Buffalo Tops Friendly Market mass shooting livestream revealed that Payton Gendron had Waukesha Parade victims written on his gun.

When Payton Gendron described his enemy as ‘replacers’ that was concrete proof he had been severely brainwashed by the ‘White Replacement Theory’ ideologies. At the same time he described himself as a left wing populist, which is different from being right wing by definition. For many people this will be the first time seeing viral evidence that there are authoritarian left wing racists.
