According to statement released by Twitter executives, Trump Supporters were planning an armed protest that would take place at US Capitol and State Capitol buildings on January 17th. This led to Twitter permanently banning Donald Trump from Twitter and closing his account.

In Twitter’s statement they allegedly said “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off Twitter, including a proposed second attack on US Capitol and State Capitol buildings on January 17, 2021“.
