Photos of Sideline Referee’s Broken Leg After Alvin Kamara Accidental Collision Goes Viral

In a shocking and unfortunate incident, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara accidentally broke a sideline referee’s leg during the Lions vs Saints matchup. The referee, who has not been identified yet, was taken off the field by medical personnel and is expected to undergo surgery.

How Alvin Kamara Broke the Sideline Referee’s Leg

The incident occurred around the 5 minute mark of the second quarter, when Kamara was running with the ball on a third-and-10 play. He gained 12 yards and was pushed out of bounds by a Lions linebacker. As he was falling to the ground, Kamara flew directly into the referee’s legs, instantly breaking them. The camera showed the referee’s broken leg mangled like a pretzel as he was writhing in pain.

The game was briefly stopped as the referee was attended to by the medical staff. He was then carted off the field and taken to a nearby hospital. The NFL has not released any official statement on his condition or recovery time.

For many people, this was the first time seeing a NFL referee suffer a broken leg at the hands of an NFL player. While referees are often involved in collisions with players, coaches, or equipment, they rarely sustain serious injuries.

According to some reports, there has allegedly been only four instances of NFL referees breaking their legs in the history of the league, and none of them were caused by players.

Some people are shocked that it doesn’t happen more often in the NFL, considering how close the sideline referees are to the action when players are coming at full speed. The sideline referees are responsible for monitoring the sidelines, the line of scrimmage, and the forward progress of the ball. They have to be alert and agile to avoid contact with the players, but sometimes they are caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Viral photos show that Alvin Kamara broke the referee’s leg so bad his shoe literally came off.

It is important to note that Kamara did not intentionally or maliciously injure the referee. He was simply trying to gain extra yards and was pushed out of bounds by a defender. He had no control over his momentum or direction as he was falling to the ground.

Kamara is one of the most respected and liked players in the NFL, both on and off the field. He is known for his explosive and versatile play style, as well as his charitable and humble personality. He has never been involved in any major controversy or disciplinary action in his successful NFL career.

Hopefully that the referee recovers soon, Kamara continues to play at a high level and does not let this unfortunate incident affect his performance or confidence.

Recovering from a broken leg at an old age sounds like a terrifying ordeal to go through, but at least the NFL will likely cover all the medical costs.
