Social Media Roasts Home Depot Co-Founder Bernie Marcus Claiming Socialism is Making People Lazy, Fat, and Stupid
How can someone tell you they are out of touch with reality, without actually saying it? One easy way to do that is by being a billionaire, and calling the average American lazy. The Co-Founder of Home Depot, 93 year old Bernie Marcus did just that when he released a statement criticizing the general public for what he believes is a lack of work ethic. In the end he just showed he has no idea what the average person is going through right now in this nation, and social media is letting him hear it.
Social Media Roasts Home Depot Co-Founder Bernie Marcus Claiming Socialism Made People Lazy, Fat, and Stupid
During an interview with Financial Times Bernie Marcus had the audacity to say, “Nobody works. Nobody gives a damn. I don’t want to work. I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid“. His statement is ironic, because Home Depot is one of those companies that people believe underpays employees in some cases. Perhaps people got tired of billionaire business owners refusing to pay the average worker a fair wage despite having more than enough funds to do so. Perhaps there would be more incentive to work if people knew they were getting paid their worth. Social media roasted Bernie Marcus due to how out of touch with reality he exposed himself to be.

What is socialism?
The defining characteristic of socialism is that it is a system in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the government. In a socialist economy, the government is responsible for allocating resources and directing production in the interest of the people as a whole. This means that the government is in charge of allocating resources and setting prices, which can impact the way that middle class Americans live.
How does socialism impact an economy?
One of the most significant impacts of socialism is that it can disrupt the free market. Under capitalism, the free market is a system in which individuals are free to invest in any business they choose, and the rewards they earn are based on their own efforts and ingenuity. Socialism, on the other hand, is a system in which the government is in charge of directing resources and production in the interest of the people as a whole. This can lead to decreased competition and decreased innovation, which can impact the economy as a whole. To insinuate socialistic ideals have made people lazy is definitely a reach beyond the stars.
