Malikah Shabazz had some issues with the law about 10 years ago, which led to her serving a short jail stint. On December 15, 2011 Malikah Shabazz was arrested and pleaded guilty to larceny, forgery, and identity theft related crimes. Police reports state that Malikah Shabazz opened a credit card in the name of the wife of a bodyguard who worked for her dad Malcolm X, then racked up a $55,000 bill.
After failing to make restitution and violating judge orders to stay in New York State, Malikah spent a few weeks in jail after the judge ordered for her to be held without bail.
Due to her troubled past of allegedly taking advantage of one of the bodyguards who worked for her late father Malcolm X, some people think Malikah Shabazz committed suicide. They theorize that feelings of guilt may have overcame her when the two men were exonerated 2 days ago.
