White Woman Says Her Black Husband is No Longer a Slave After the Interracial Couple Got Married on Slave Plantation

When you think of the venue for a wedding most people think of peaceful places with no history of racism, murder, and human suffering. However, one couple thought a place like that would be the perfect setting for their wedding, and has now caused a lot of racial controversy. All the talk is around an interracial couple that got married on a Slave Plantation, and what the white wife said about her black husband in an Instagram post about their special day.

People are fuming, because the white woman said her black husband is no longer a slave after they got married on the Slave Plantation. In the photo the white woman is cutting chains off her black husband to mimic freeing him from slavery. It’s not clear what the motivation was behind doing something that people would find offensive, and people also can’t understand why the black guy was comfortable with the whole deal.

This situation brings back memories of the controversial “12 years a wife 12 years slave” wedding photo that caused controversy on social media some years ago. In that situation it was a black woman getting married to white man who made references to slavery.

At the end of the day if this interracial couple, and their families were happy with doing a slavery themed wedding that’s really all that matters. However, it just seems like a really strange vibe to have attached to your special wedding day. To have a black man in chains on a slave plantation will never sit right with anyone, even if it’s just for imagery. Given that we live in a social media age they could just be looking for some clout though.
