He said that he thinks there are some rappers who are actually CIA operatives, and their mission is to start feuds with other artists and provoke them to do something illegal that will land them in jail and ruin their careers.

He insinuated that their goal is to destroy the culture and the movement of hip-hop by making people lose everything they worked for. He said that this is similar to how the government allegedly took down Fred Hampton, the leader of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, in 1969. Hampton was betrayed by William O’Neal, an FBI informant who infiltrated the party and gave information that led to Hampton’s killing by the police.

Berner believes something similar is happening to hip-hop right now.
