Mask mandates have caused much controversy with many people deeming them unconstitutional, but a controversy of another kind is catching steam on social media. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott’s “Shorty pull your mask up” argument during a speech is going viral.
During a speech where he was explaining to Baltimore residents why he created mask mandate laws, a certain person in the crowd refused to wear their facemask properly. This led to the Baltimore Mayor saying “Shorty pull your mask up, people dying”. He repeated that line many times making the moment even more classic. The video clip instantly went viral worldwide, mainly because of how down to earth Brandon Scott sounded.

If you listen closely you can hear the person the Baltimore Mayor told “Shorty pull your mask up” respond saying “I ain’t got to pull my mask up“. When you take that into account it’s amazing how Brandon Scott kept his composure, and never sounded angry despite being disrespected.
Another hilarious moment from the video is the way the sign language guy was conveying what the mayor was saying. It seemed like he had to think about it for a few seconds before making the proper gestures.
The Baltimore Mayor’s “Shorty pull your mask up” incident will never be forgotten. A classic moment of the COVID-19 pandemic.
