Charles Barkley Says Don’t Compare Breonna Taylor to George Floyd or Ahmed Aubrey on Inside the NBA
Charles Barkley was very vocal about current social issues during Inside the NBA today, and his comments about Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery are viral. Charles Barkley said don’t compare Breonna Taylor to George Floyd or Ahmed Aubrey.
Charles Barkley pointed out that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend shot at the police, before they fired back.
Naturally people are very angry, because of Charles Barkley’s track record when it comes situations like this. Charles Barkley caught heat in the past for indirectly defending George Zimmerman with comments during the Trayvon Martin trial.
Charles Barkley didn’t seem like he wanted to disrespect Breonna Taylor’s situation, but rather he offered a different point of view. When the police illegally executed the no knock warrant, it caused Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend to fire blindly through the door since the police tried to barge in like burglars. Charles Barkley thinks that puts some of the fault on Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend for escalating the situation.
However, you can also say the police where entirely responsible for escalating the situation by trying to break into their house with an invalid no knock warrant. They could of easily just knocked first, and announced they were police.
Charles Barkley saying don’t compare Breonna Taylor to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery might be an Inside the NBA moment that is never forgotten.
