Rumors are spreading on social media that rapper The Game is now homeless, but how true is the claim? According to new reports, The Game who was sued for intimately assaulting a woman on a VH1 show, may lose his home and trademarks to pay off his debt. Priscilla Rainey, the accuser, won a $7 million judgment against him in court, but has only received $500k so far.
Was The Game Scamming the Court to Avoid Paying Priscilla Rainey?
Rainey accused The Game and his manager Wack 100 of creating fake companies and moving assets around to avoid paying her. She said The Game gave his home and trademarks to Wack as part of a scheme to evade her.
She filed a new lawsuit against them, demanding that the court void the transfers and allow her to seize the property and money. She said the home, which The Game still lives in, is worth $2.8 million.
Wack denied any wrongdoing and said he got the home because The Game owed him money. The Game did not respond to the lawsuit.
On December 13, a trial took place where Rainey and Wack testified. The court ruled in favor of Rainey and found that The Game and JTT Holdings, the company he used to buy the home, are the same entity and liable for the judgment.
The court also voided the transfers of the home and trademarks from JTT Holdings to Wack, and ordered that they be used to pay off Rainey. The court said that any money or property that The Game gets from JTT Holdings should go to Rainey until the debt is paid.
The ruling suggests that The Game may become homeless if Rainey sells off his home to collect her money. It also means that he may lose the rights to his own name and music. The rapper has not commented on the outcome of the case.
It remains to be seen if The Game will really be without a home in the near future, but right now things aren’t looking good for him. He isn’t homeless just yet though.
