Yesterday Luka Doncic shared a racist video on social media that made racial remarks about people of Albanian descent.
Luka is now claiming he accidentally shared the video, and it was one huge mistake. Luka Says “I didn’t see the bad world”, among other things. No that isn’t a typo, Luka actually misspelled “word”. Many celebrities from Albania such as Deni Hoxha have publicly spoken out in anger.
As aforementioned, although his message says “bad world”, it might be safe to assume he meant “bad word”. If he actually meant “bad world”, that in itself could be considered potentially offensive. Luka Doncic stated he would “never share something like that” but is he just trying to save face, or is he being genuine?
Since coming the NBA, Luka Doncic has always been seen as one of the most humble players in the league. Given his track record, some people might give him the benefit of the doubt in this situation. There’s will be others that don’t accept his apology as well.
All in all, it’s another case of when keeping it social media goes wrong.
