There was once a time when Rae Sremmurd was one of the top acts in the music world. Back then their live performances were touted as something everyone needed to experience. Fast forward to about 5 years later, and they just don’t have the same effect on people as they did in their primes. Now most people seem to feel they are a second rate act. For some reason NFL decided to throw them to the wolves during the 2023 Pro Bowl, and now they are getting torched by social media.

The easiest way to tell when a performance is going completely wrong is by assessing the reaction of the crowd on hand. Now granted there are probably many NFL enthusiasts that are not hip-hop fans, in most cases you’ll still see most of the crowd getting hype if the music is good, or at least exciting. However, during Rae Sremmurd’s Pro Bowl Halftime show the crowd was very dead, with an awkward noise of contempt filling the air. Social media roasted Rae Sremmurd’s Pro Bowl Halftime performance with many labeling it the most “unlit” performance of all time.
NFL always seems to be a bit out of touch with the music people want to hear during their halftime shows, but as some people suggested maybe they got Rae Sremmurd to perform at a discount price. After all it’s only the Pro Bowl, and not the actual Super Bowl. Either way the reactions are hilarious.
