Union Academy Charter basketball coach Barney Harris was shot and killed by Sinaloa Drug Cartel in Alamance County, NC robbery gone wrong according to reports. His brother in law Steven Alexander Stewart Jr somehow escaped alive. Based on the police investigation it seems Barney Harris was living a double life.

How Union Academy Charter basketball coach Barney Harris Got Killed Sinaloa Cartel

Police reports state Barney Harris was shot at a mobile home cocaine stash house in Alamance County, NC around 1 am in morning on April 8th. An 18 year old member of the Sinaloa Cartel was living in this mobile home. It appears Barney Harris and Steven Alexander Stewart Jr arrived at the house and tied up 18 year old member of the Sinaloa Cartel then shot him in the head. That’s when other members of the Sinaloa Carter retaliated and shot Barney Harris several times.

Barney Harris was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it appears he didn’t expect the Sinaloa Cartel to have armor piecing bullets. Essentially it seems like Barney Harris and his brother in law tried to rob the Sinaloa Cartel, but bit off more than they could chew. Perhaps they didn’t know the cocaine stash house was being run by them.

The Double Life of Barney Harris’ Career

As aforementioned Barney Harris was basketball coach at Union Academy Charter School in Monroe, NC. He also coached the track team at the school, and was a Spanish teacher. This was a man of many hats, but it appears one of that hats was involved in some serious drug business.

His brother in law Steven Alexander Stewart Jr is still at large.
