If there is one celebrity who loves kicking people when their down it’s definitely Tekashi69. Recently the controversial superstar was in Russia to perform at the “Bangerfest”. The event was slated to be Russia’s first hip-hop festival ever, but was recently cancelled. Still yet he found a way to make himself trend at the expense of Brittney Griner.
Tekashi 6IX9INE Disrespects Brittney Griner While in Moscow Russia for Banger Fest ‘F*** Brittney Griner’
Tekashi 6IX9INE has a relatively large fanbase in Russia, so it’s no surprise they reached out to him to perform at the Banger Fest. With the event cancelled Tekashi was just strolling around Moscow, and decided to get on IG Live to stir up some trouble. For no reason at all Tekashi69 dissed Brittney Griner with a message conveying he does not care about the fact she was sentenced to 9 years in Russian prison for medical marijuana. In the sad footage Tekashi 6IX9INE said “F**k Brittney Griner, I got a T-shirt too”.
Why Was Brittney Griner Sentenced to 9 Years in Russian Prison?
The WNBA superstar was sentenced to 9 years in prison, because Russian police caught Brittney Griner with vape cartridges in her luggage when she arrived at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow. Their reports stated that she had weed in vape cartridges in the form of hashish oil. Hash oil is an extremely concentrated substance containing tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, and other cannabinoids, which is an oleoresin created by extraction from marijuana.
According to Russia’s drug laws possession of less than 6 grams of marijuana is considered an “administrative offense”, which can carry a hefty fine or up to 15 days in jail. Possession of more than 6 grams of marijuana is a criminal offense that can result in 10 years or more in prison. In addition she brought the drugs across country lines, which added to the gravity of the offenses.
Despite Brittney’s legal team saying it was an honest mistake, Russian prosecutors believed she intentionally broke Russia’s drug laws. As result they gave her 1 year less than the maximum sentence for her alleged crimes, which was sadly 9 years. On social media there were many posts dedicated to her situation. Sadly the moment Russian police found that marijuana in her luggage was the last time we saw Brittney Griner as a free woman.
It’s really sad to see Tekashi69 disrespecting Brittney Griner in such harsh fashion while being in the country that imprisoned her. Situations like these are why many people were happy that Tekashi got jumped at a Dubai club a few days ago. It must be tough being a fan of this guy.
