The Pelicans are off to a promising start this season, and the most important factor to their success so far has been health. However, the injury bug bit them again during their latest matchup with the Utah Jazz.
Did Brandon Ingram Break His Nose? Brandon Ingram Scary Nose Injury Causes Him to Leave Game Abruptly
With about five minutes to go in the 2nd quarter Brandon Ingram got hit in the nose while going for a lose ball. Slow motion replay would show it was his own teammate Naji Marshall that inflicted the damage unintentionally. The injury looked scary, because his nose got hit from an upward angle, which can cause dangerous fractures in some instances. Shortly after being attended to by medical staff Brandon Ingram left the game looking very disoriented.
With Brandon Ingram out the game the Pelicans struggled offensively until they found themselves clicking again down the stretch. They were able comeback from down double digits to take the game into overtime, but the Jazz’s motion offense was just too much for them handle without Brandon Ingram in the mix.
Pelicans are now 2-1 while the Utah Jazz remain undefeated at 3-0. If the playoffs started today the Jazz, Trailblazers, Clippers, and Spurs would be the top 4 seeds.
The extent of his injury is unknown, but if Brandon Ingram broke his nose we might see him wearing a facemask in the near future.
