“If you want it you better put a ring on it”, those are the words of Beyoncé, and a saying that is resonating after sad Zion Williamson news. According to a report from Shams Charania, Zion Williamson broke his ring finger and will miss the rest of the season.
In Western Culture the ring finger is your fourth finger on the left hand counting from your thumb. This means Zion Williamson fractured the finger right beside his left pinky finger. It seems almost unreal that a finger is what ended the closest thing to real life Hulk’s season, but at least it wasn’t his knee again.

When and How Did Zion Williamson Break His Ring Finger?
Zion Williamson broke his ring finger during the Pelicans vs Warriors game. As he was driving to the basket he missed a layup then while attempting a put back his finger got jammed into the basketball and backboard. He immediately held his hand in pain as you can see in the video below.

Zion Williamson’s injury couldn’t come at a worst time as Pelicans trail Spurs by only 1 1/2 games to be in the play in tournament with only 6 games left to go. The good thing is Lonzo Ball is playing his best basketball of the season lately, so they still have a chance. Eric Bledsoe is going to need to step up his production.
Zion Williamson finished the season averaging 27 ppg, 8 rpg, 4 apg. Pelicans now have new motivation, they have to make the playoffs in honor of Zion Williamson’s ring finger. The new motto is “Do it for the finger”.
Let’s hope Zion makes a speedy recovery.
