Homeowners Associations Trend After Viral AITA Reddit Post About a HOA 2 Dog Rule in Retirement Neighborhood
Homeowners Associations rose prevalence in the 1960s, and since then they have become a villain to many home buyers. The rules leaders of HOAs enforce upon neighborhoods often are ridiculous, overreaching, and downright petty. This is what led to HOAs trending on social media after viral AITA reddit post about a HOA 2 dog rule in a retirement neighborhood.
According to the AITA reddit post the victim moved into a retirement neighborhood with her parents after her job required relocating. The HOA had a 2 dog rule, but she own three dogs, two of which looked exactly alike. To circumvent the rule the person said they would never walk the two identical dogs at the same time, but the plan came crashing down after her next door neighbor found out about the third dog, and reported the situation the HOA who asked to investigate.
To circumvent the investigation the victim took one of the identical dogs to the vet, and the HOA only found two dogs inside her home during the search. However, the trouble didn’t end there, because her neighbor was a full fledged Karen on a mission of home destruction due to one extra dog.
When the investigation was complete the victim claims her neighbor walked up to her and said, “Did the HOA find your dog”. At this point she cursed out her neighbor saying, “No they didn’t, mind you own business b****”.
After the AITA reddit post went viral, people on social media began to explain how much they hate HOAs.
Who was wrong and who was right in the situation with the HOA two dog rule? The neighbor living beside reddit user never had any issues until they found out about the third dog, which means it really wasn’t causing any issues. Their complaint seemed to be just based on pure pettiness, but at the same time we are also only hearing one side of the story.
