Kevin Durant Air Balls Game Winner Shot Chance to Save His Legacy Away in Game 7 of Nets vs Bucks
It’s official the Bucks beat Brooklyn, which means Nets are eliminated from the 2021 playoffs after acquiring Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. For much of the season the basketball airwaves were filled with people claiming they were guaranteed to make the Finals. However, the deeper basketball minds said they probably wouldn’t make it out the East. In Game 7 Kevin Durant air balled a game winning shot chance to save his legacy, and proved his doubters correct.
As of now the fact still remains that Kevin Durant has never led a team to a championship. His only two rings came as part of a championship system that was already in place in the Warriors. As people expected when the odds were evened between Durant and his matchup he faltered again just like the OKC days. The end was poetic considering the shot to tie the game missed the entire rim.
Kevin Durant went 0-6 in a Game 7 overtime quarter. The alleged most unstoppable scorer ever couldn’t score any points in 5 minutes for his team.
Kevin Durant’s face when he realized he air balled a game winner in Game 7 tells the whole story of Nets season.
A year where a franchise expected to win its first championship ended with a Kevin Durant second round early exit. As a result his legacy is still as fragile as ever.
He still hasn’t proven he can lead a team to championship, and he’s almost 34 years old. Will it ever happen?
