Mavericks Dwight Powell Dangerously Smashes His Head into the Ceiling in Scary Accident Video
Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell is known for his high-flying dunks and blocks, but he may have taken his vertical leap too far in a recent video that has gone viral on the internet. The video, captured by a security camera at the American Airlines Center, shows Powell skipping through the hallway leading to the locker room, apparently in a good mood.
How Dwight Powell Hit His Head
He must have forgotten how tall he is (6 feet 10 inches) as he hopped too high in the air, smashing his head into the ceiling of the tunnel with a loud thud.
The video then zooms in on Powell’s face, which shows a mix of pain and embarrassment as he holds his head for a few moments. He then resumes his walk, trying to act casual and pretend nothing happened. The video ends with a freeze frame of Powell’s expression and a caption that reads “Mondays Be Like”
The video quickly spread across various social media platforms, garnering millions of views and comments. Many fans and fellow players expressed their sympathy and amusement at Powell’s mishap, while others made jokes and memes about his height and jumping ability. Some even compared him to former NBA star Dwight Howard, who is also known for his athleticism and occasional blunders.
Powell has not publicly commented on the video, but he seemed to take it in stride and laughed it off. He did not suffer any serious injury from the incident, except for a possible minor headache and a bruised ego.
Perhaps this is a sign that he has future in boxing after he’s done playing basketball. If you can take a blow like that to the head, and shake it off in a few seconds, then he can definitely eat a punch or two in a boxing ring.
