Drake, the Canadian rapper and singer, has sparked a new conspiracy theory that he underwent a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) surgery, which is a procedure rarely ever admitted by men.
Why Do Conspiracy Theorists Think Drake Secretly Got BBL Surgery?
The conspiracy theory that Aubrey Graham got a BBL done went viral after he posted a video of himself gifting custom OVO scrubs to a popular plastic surgeon.
In the video, he is seen handing over a bag full of OVO-branded scrubs to @DrJungMoney aka Dr. Calvin Jung, a Houston-based surgeon who specializes in BBL procedures. Drake claimed that his gift was a gesture of appreciation for Dr. Jung’s work in making the dreams of many women come true.
However, social media users were quick to speculate that Drake’s gift was actually a subtle way of thanking Dr. Jung for performing a BBL surgery on him. The conspiracy theory is fueled by past allegations that Drake had fake ab implants to enhance his physique.
How is BBL Surgery Done?
BBL surgery is a cosmetic procedure that involves transferring fat from one area of the body to the buttocks to create a more rounded and fuller appearance. It is also known as buttock augmentation with fat grafting or safe subcutaneous buttock augmentation (SSBA).
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, BBL surgery is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures, with 21,823 cases performed in 2020. However, it is also one of the deadliest, with a mortality rate of up to 1 in 3,000 due to the risk of fat embolism.
Drake has not responded to the BBL surgery conspiracy theory, nor has he confirmed or denied having any plastic surgery in the past. His trainer, has previously defended the rapper’s natural-looking results and credited his hard work and dedication in the gym.
