Judging from the stories being reported it seems like William Bennett provoked the black student into fighting. It’s easy to see why a gunshot survivor would be very triggered by someone telling them they would get shot, especially if they were using racial slurs. There are still no details on what provoked the teacher to start using racial slurs and stereotypes. In any case there is no situation where a Teacher should be using that type of language.
Jefferson County Public Schools are investigating the incident, and have reassigned William Bennett to a different school; his fate will be determined by the details investigators uncover.
If the allegations are true it could mean there was a racist teacher at Marion C. Moore High School.
