Breanna Stewart called out Joe Budden for saying Seattle needs a basketball team. A lot people won’t know, but Breanna Stewart plays for the Seattle Storm.
She felt offended when Joe Budden said Seattle didn’t have team, which alludes to the WNBA team not being worthy of representing the city. When Joe Budden said Seattle deserved a basketball team, Breanna Stewart replied “We have one”.
In 2008 the Supersonics left Seattle after they couldn’t secure public funding for a new arena, and went on to become the OKC Thunder. This is what Joe Budden was referring to when said Seattle needs a basketball team.
However, Breanna Stewart is right because there is still a WNBA team in Seattle and they do deserve respect as the cities basketball pride now.
