Brian Urlacher dissed NBA players boycotting the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha with a controversial statement on Instagram. Brian Urlacher is not happy that NBA players decided to boycott because he feels Jacob Blake escalated the situation by reaching knife. Brian Urlacher also states that Jacob Blake was wanted for felony sexual assault.
The craziest part about Brian Urlacher calling out NBA players for boycotting was the fact that he brought up Brett Favre playing in a game after his dad died, which doesn’t correlate to the Jacob Blake situation at all.
Brian Urlacher has two mixed kids, so it’s tough to say he’s racist, but he seems more so misguided. Sure Jacob Blake was wrong for reaching for a knife, and his background of being wanted for felony sexual assault was sketchy, but he clearly shouldn’t have been shot 7 times.
People reacted to his comments on social media by citing times other people did worse, even pointing guns at cops and still not being shot. Some people referenced how Dylan Roof was taken to Burger King after committing a mass shooting and being deemed “Armed and dangerous”.
Brian Urlacher is definitely going to receive a lot of backlash for calling out NBA players boycotting due to the Jacob Blake shooting.
