Is Gelo Ball signing with Hornets? Lavar Ball’s master plan of having all three of his sons on the same team may be one step closer to becoming a reality. According to a report from Sports Illustrated reporter Roderick Boone, Hornets are finalizing a deal with LiAngelo Ball.
Gelo Ball is expected to join Hornets’ summer league team, which means the deal would have to be completed before August 8th. Just a few weeks ago Slam released a video where Gelo Ball said he is still working out doing basketball drills, and training with professionals to make sure he is ready for the inevitable chance he will get to be in the NBA again. The chance is finally coming to fruition hopefully.

Many people thought Gelo Ball’s NBA dreams were over when Pistons embarrassed him in front of the basketball world. There were even some rumors Gelo was battling depression after that situation. It never made sense how a guy who averaged almost 30 points per game against top competition in high school was being overlooked and thrown to wayside over and over. Even in Lithuania he averaged 13 ppg in limited minutes, and led the league in 3 point shooting at clip of almost 50%.
Hopefully his time with Hornets goes smoother than it did with Detroit, but with LaMelo Ball being the superstar cornerstone of the franchise Gelo will probably get fair shot to prove himself this time.
The last step to Lavar Ball’s masterplan will be getting Lonzo on the Hornets too. In the mean time you can catch a preview of what that will be like when LiAngelo Ball plays in Drew League with his two brothers this summer.
