A video of Wilt Chamberlain’s running speed boost is going viral, but is it fake? The footage shows Wilt Chamberlain accelerating at seemingly inhuman speed during NBA games. He accelerated so fast it looked almost like the NBA 2K21 speed glitch that 2k developers had to address in a patch. However, on closer look something seems a bit off.
Why People Think the Wilt Chamberlain Speedboost Video is Fake
In the footage below pay close attention to the background, his opponents, and his teammates. You may or may not notice that they also start moving faster anytime Wilt accelerates. That strange affect seems to point to a possibility that the footage was actually edited by increasing the play speed at brief moments to make it appear he was accelerating.
Wilt Chamberlain was definitely one of the greatest athletes that ever lived. His combination of size, speed, and agility was matched by few people before and after him. Whether or not this video is fake doesn’t change those facts.
However, if this video is indeed real you could argue Wilt Chamberlain is the fastest player ever.
