Back in 2019 at UFC Fight Night 147, Jorge Masvidal was doing an interview after knocking out Darren Till in the second round of the main event match. As he was talking to a reporter Leon Edwards was walking by, and said something disrespectful. The situation got tense when Jorge Masvidal sucked punched Leon Edwards a few times in his face, before security got between the two fighters.

With the grudge match made official Jorge Masvidal posted a message saying “You’re Welcome” with the hashtag “super necessary”. It seems he was subliminally referring to their backstage fight, and how this match is needed to settle the score.
On the flipside it seems at the moment Leon Edwards is thinking more about the money he’s going to make, than his actual opponent. He posted a message saying “millionaire” with surprised eye emojis. This would no doubt be the biggest pay day of his career, especially he wins the match.
