The “Clutch Brothers” are Born: CP3 Phoenix Suns Are Championship Contenders Again After Chris Paul Traded to Suns
The only undefeated team from the NBA Bubble just shocked the sports world. Chris Paul was traded to Phoenix Suns for Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick. With this move the CP3 Phoenix Suns are championship contenders again, and the “Clutch Brothers” are born.
The Chris Paul Devin Booker duo will be a force to reckoned with, even deadlier than the CP3 James Harden duo that almost beat the healthy Kevin Durant Warriors in 2018. Devin Booker is a much much better player than James Harden, and has playing style that meshes better with Chris Paul’s point guard abilities.
It’s rumored that Chris Paul wanted to be traded to Suns specifically because of Devin Booker. He is the best player CP3 has ever played with.
At 34 years old Chris Paul had one of the best seasons of his career this past year, and should have won MVP. Everyone picked OKC to be a lottery team, and he almost led them to Western Conference semi finals. If not for getting cheated by a referee, OKC would have beat Houston. Chris Paul finished the season averaging 18 ppg, 5rpg, 7apg. He led the league if 4th quarter points.
The Lebron James like impact that Chris Paul brings to a team will now be coupled with Devin Booker who is just entering his prime, and coming off a career year averaging 27 ppg, 4 rpg, 7apg on 49% shooting. He also started dating Kendall Jenner.
Like Chris Paul, Devin Booker was one the league leaders in the 4th quarter points. This is why we have dubbed them the “Clutch Brothers”.
Will Chris Paul win a championship with Phoenix Suns? Probably not, but they will definitely are the main team Lakers have to worry about now. The dark days in Phoenix are over, Chris Paul has made the Phoenix Suns Championship Contenders again. Even if you’re not a fan of the Suns this is beautiful to see.
