Rapper and actor T.I. is known for his eloquent and sophisticated way of speaking, which often makes even the most simple things sound complex. In the video, T.I. explained to the officer that he was speeding past him because he was arguing with a woman in his car and he wanted to get home as fast as possible. He also told the officer that he had not consumed any alcohol or drugs, and that he was sober and alert.

He said, “You asked when was the last time I had something to drink. I’m telling you I haven’t had anything to drink. So it sounds like you’re trying to ask something to make me say I have done something that I haven’t done.”

He continued, “Sir, I understand that you have a very difficult job. I understand there is a lot of stress that comes with that job. I don’t want to add to it. I don’t want to make your job any more difficult than it has to be. I don’t want to be a burden on you. I don’t want to be a nuisance to you”.

His smart vernacular seemed to work, as the officer eventually decided not to give him the field sobriety test, and instead wrote him three citations. One of which was a speeding ticket, while the others were just warnings for getting his registration update on the Range Rover he just bought.

At the end of the video, T.I. and the officer even joked friendly with each other, as T.I. said, “You want my number, so I can call you when I get home?” in response to the officer asking him again if he was okay to drive before he pulled off.
