After she came in last place at the Prefontaine Classic at University of Oregon, Jamaicans are not letting up Sha’Carri Richardson as the dust settles. We saw Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Videobomb her post-race interview, but around social media people from Jamaica are getting their jokes in too. For example a Jamaican TikToker clowning Sha’Carri Richardson on TikTok is going viral. The video was posted by user “yoboyryan”.
In the video it’s a bit hard to understand what the Jamaican woman is saying if you’re not used to the accent, but the gist of it was her saying that Sha’Carri had a “malfunction” during the race. Other Jamaicans dubbed Sha’Carri Richardson “weedy”. After those comments she made during the Tokyo Olympics, she kind of brought all this on herself.

The beef between Sha’Carri and Jamaicans all started when she made comments insinuating the track events at the Tokyo Olympics weren’t same without her, despite that her fellow black athletes were dominating the competition. This rubbed a lot of people the wrong way who thought she wasn’t being humble. As a result Sha’Carri went from being a hero to a villain that quickly.
